Larkin's Story
I was very shy and quiet in high school. My dad was a famous TV & movie star so I went to Birmingham to avoid all the people that knew who my dad was. Shy to the max. I was so shy that I never even spoke to boys unless I was tutoring them. Yes, I was one of the smart geeks that got high grades (except math and french). School was something I did well. I joined the Drill team with my best friend Carol Rogers. I didn't know a thing about football. I just yelled when everyone else did. I got married the summer after graduation and moved to Washington state where he was from. I have 4 biological children (2 girls and 2 boys). We were married for 18 years. I was then a single mom for over 7 years and also went back to gollege and got my degree in nursing during that time. I specialize in medically fragile children. I got remarried to an incredible man, Paul Pritchard and adopted his 2 precious daughters. I adopted another daughter a year before Paul and I got married. I have been a foster mom also and have helped raise many kids, most of whom lived with us for over 5 years. Kids ha...Expand for more
ve always been my thing. Our home was fun, crazy and the place where all the neighborhood kids wanted to hang out. My wonderful husband Paul retired from the Air Force after 33 years and then died of cancer over 5 years ago. I have a strong faith and I am a Jesus following Christian, active in my church and have sung in the choir for almost 20 years. I have overcome my shyness and love life and all it has to offer.
I have 7 darling grandchildren so far, ranging in age from 13 years to 15 months (4 boys and 3 girls). They are my joy!
I have kept in touch with my best friend Carol over the years. It is one of those friendships that spans the test of time.
I still live in Gig Harbor, Washington. It is a quaint maritime, small town in the most gorgeous part of our wonderful country.
I met another wondeful man 3 years ago and together Bob & I have done a lot of traveling, especially cruising. What a way to travel.
I wish you all God's richest blessings. It would be fun to attend the re-union this year, but it is just not possible at this time.
Blessings,
Larkin (Doohan) Pritchard
