Larry's Story
I was born in Japan, moved to Michigan in 1952 as my father was posted to Empire Air Force station. In 1962 we moved to Madison Wisconsin, Truax field. I attended Silver springs elementary and Madison Central Jr and High school thru my junior year of 1966. The summer of 1966 my family moved too Naha AFB okinawa and I attended Kubasaki Sr High graduating class of 1967. I attended U of Maryland extension and worked localy thru 1969. I enlisted in USAF 1969 and served for 20 years as an Air Traffic controller. In those 20 years I moved many times and served 3 tours overseas in Okinawa, Guam and England. ingmensts were mostly in the west and southeastern areas: McCoy, Mcdill, Tyndall afb's in Florida; Hollman afb New mexico. Minot afb N Dakota and my retirement assignment in 1989, George AFB California. In 1991 I was employed by the US Customs service as a Radar operator at a Customs radar facility located at March AFB Ca. I remained there untill my retirement in 2005. Not wishing to remain in California I sold my house and moved to a retirement community in Newport Oregon. With the Pacific ocean as my back yard and the Cascades in the front, I hoped to enjoy the relaxed and beautiful Oregon coast. 2009 I was widowed
