Larry's Story
Life
My Spouse
Summer camp with our Friends Church youth was my first encounter. It was when I saw her at college in our church choir that I first noticed how pretty she was so I asked around to find out who she was. Later I talked to her at the student union and asked why I couldn't find her brother (my camp best pal that year) and really met her.
My Pets
All my married life we have had dogs at various times. Our last dog died while building our house and our new house doesn't have a fence so we don't have one currently. My son and his wife have a cat that we kept over the summer and are keeping for them until they can get a larger apartment (the cat couldn't adjust to the small place they have now).
My Kids
Our 4 kids are aged within 3 years and two months from oldest to youngest. (Our middle two are twins, a boy and a girl.) Our oldest son just graduated from the University of Arkansas and after getting married is continuing at the U of A for a masters in Electrical Engineering. Our daughter is a s...Expand for more
enior at Friends University majoring in Spanish and Education. Her twin brother is at Wichita State University majoring in Mechanical Engineering (after his first three years at John Brown University). Our youngest son is a sophomore at Barclay College majoring in Youth Ministry.
My Job
I am our school building's Technology Go To. This means that if computers have a problem, they come to me for the fix. I am also in charge of the network and internet connection for the building. To do this job I am released one fourth of the day from teaching duties. So my actual time is usually spent about 50% to 66% working with the computer system and 33% to 50% teaching class or preparing for class. My teaching duties are generally computer programming and computer technology useage classes. I teach a technology class called Generation www.Y that trains students to be teacher helper/trainers in using technology in the classroom. The students pair with a teacher and create a technology based lesson for the class.
