Larry's Story
Life
I am a Senior Financial Advisor with Smith Barney in downtown Santa Barbara.I have a great wife,Becky,who I met while racing in a sailboat world championship in 1992.We raced sailboats together around the US ,Europe, and Australia.In 1997 we got married at the Villa D'Este on Lake Como in Northern Italy.With 2 boys,Paul 6/2/00, and Nicholas 7/14/05 our racing is now mainly on the westcoast.Our boat is a J-105 named Repeat Offender which is about 35' and is mainly used for local racing and daysailing with friends.I also have a Nacra F-18 which is an extremely fast high performance 2 person catamaran.Becky takes care of our ho...Expand for more
me and boys which is a fulltime job.We've been living in Montecito since 1997. Paul, our oldest boy, goes to Laguna Blanca's lower campus in Montecito.
After San Marcos I went to SBCC for 2 years. Transfered to UC San Diego with the intent of going to medical school. I graduated with a biochem/molecular bio degree.I blewoff medicine and was hired by a sailboat manufacturing company. My job included alot of traveling around the US, Europe, Australia, and Japan.Great fun but not alot of financial reward. In 1987 I started my current carrer with E.F.Hutton which through mergers and name changes has evolved into Smith Barney.
