Larry's Story

Life Okay, the short version, left Lakenheath regretfully in 1969, stayed in Salina, Kansas for a year while my father was in Vietnam. then from there went to San Antonio, TX Whether or not that was a wise decision the jury's still out on that one. Anyways, Enlisted in the Army in 1973, served with the 2nd Armored Division in Germany, mainly At Grafenwohr, Germany, Where I took the best overall Guitar Player award for the Bavarian area (Which was in 1975) then went into the Navy in 1977, stationed first at Roosevelt Roads PR where I recieved one of many letters of commendation for my part in the Jonestown massacre rescue operation, then I went from there to San Diego, assigned on board USS Dixon AS-37, went TDY to USS Haddock SSN-721(to this day what happened I cannot discuss)then assigned to the USS Independance made my first westpac, then from there went to PSD San Antonio and from there went to the USS Coral Sea CV-43 where I made two med cruises, I was married to my first wife by this time, she bore me two beautiful children. in 1989 I had to get out, where two years later she died. then in 1997 went into the Air Force where I became an F-16 Crewchief, stationed mainly with a reserve unit at Kelly AFB and Lackland where I retired. Today other than work I love playing music, as well as making music (It's the next best thing to having sex which I also still enjoy)I play Guitar, Bass and Keyboards. I have some web sites up now and yes I played all ...Expand for more
the instruments on them! I also play a wide variety of music from swing to jazz to fusion, to rock and classical and country. I'm Living in the Pacific Northwest. Mainly in the Oregon/Washington Area, Where I'm serving in a Vet-Rep Capacity, even though I'm not one yet but I will be one-day and between that and school and playing music, I've got my hands full! Soon, after everything quiets down, with the help of a childhood friend I'm putting together a CD which has always been a life's dream and ambition. there you have the short version Military Enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17, spent most if not all of my time overseas in Germany, Mainly Grafenwohr with the 2nd Armored Division. Where I stayed until 1976, (Took the best overall guitar Player award for the Bavarian Area during this time) In 1977, enlisted in the United States Navy, where in 1978 I received a letter of commendation (amongst many)for my part in the Jonestown massacre rescue operation (Interesting experience to say the least)Sailed five of the seven seas, made two med and one westpac cruises. also sailed on a six month cruise on a fast attack submarine, there were some places and things that I took part in that to this day I still cannot discuss, and last but not least from the Navy I went into the Air Force where I was an F-16 Crewchief along with being an T-37B and T-6 crewchief as well I retired as a reservist. That, ladies and Gentlemen is the short end of it
