Larry's Story
After High school, I continued to follow my dream,(Music) I haved lived in Philly & Detroit then back to Naptown. I made it to the Apollo two years after graduation. That was when I was touring with Sister Sledge, (We Are Family). After that adventure I stared touring with a 10 piece bad and traveled all across the country. In 1977 I had the pleasure of touring with the Spinners. That was truly the BOMB. I went from close to no class to first class. They treated me really fantastic and it is an experience I will always be greateful for. I went from self service travel to the Limo is here. I have had the good fortune to travel to every US state and many out of country gigs. The first week while touring with the Spinners I got to appear on several national TV shows such as The Midnight Special, Don Kirsher's Rock Concert, The Diana Shore Show and the Merv Griffin show. That was really one great experience in my life. At the same time I joined The Spinners Miles "Butch" Loyd, another Ridge buddy joined up also. He was truly my #1 road dog. cians that could make it had a jam session for him. As he laid ther with the music playing I really believed he could hear the music. After touring with the Spinners I hooked up with the O'Jays for a short time. I came back to Nap and worked with various groups and people. I played with one of Naptowns first Fusion bands Affinity. We recorded an alblum, (remember those) named Around The Town in 1986.
While back in nap I worked fo the Post Office for 17 years leaving there to lay back and try enjoy life.
Now days I play for the church. Jesus has the only steady gig in town. I am also a Deaon and Trusstee for the church. Who would ever thought it.
I hve one son and I have three grand Kids, 15, 4, 3 and one more on the way due Febuary. My son gave me the name G-Paw. The kids are great and I really enjjoy them in my life.
I do enjoy life and had a very good ride and continue enjoying every moment of every day.
