Larry's Story
Life
After working for 8 years in a steel mill (Kaiser Steel), I went to college at Cal State San Bernardino, (CA), got a degree in Biology, with a minor in chemistry/physics. I did that while working full time at another steel mill (National Can Corp) for 7 more years. I have been teaching high school biology, chemistry and physics since 1978, the last 26 years in Georgia.
In May, 2005, my High School Principal had me fired from Dacula High School, where I had taught for 23 years, because I refused to change a "0" grade for a football player who slept through an assignment I gave my students to...Expand for more
do in class. The boy's father was a personal friend of my principal, and demanded I change his son's grade. I refused, and was terminated for that.
A month later I was offered a teaching job in another high school very close to where I live, so I took it. I was much happier there, and retiring from there in June of 2009.
My wife, Elizabeth, and I have built a house (I mean WE built this house) on 4 acres in the country outside Dacula, GA in the community of Harbins. Let me know if you ever come to the Atlanta area, and we will provide a place for you to stay.
