Larry's Story
Life
I joined the Air Force right after high school.Served 3 yrs. at Birkenfeld Air Station Germany after 1 yr in Tech school at Biloxi, Miss. Moved back to Napa and joined the Calif Army National Guard.as a Demolition Sgt. Guess I wasn't finished playing army. Then I re-enlisted in the Air Force Reserves as a Navigation systems tech at Travis AFB, Ca. Gave up my playing army after a motorcycle accident.Oh well, it was only 17 years down the drain. I still ride my Harley.Just cant bring my self to give that up.It's what keeps me young.Just got back from a fishing trip to Alaska with some GREAT friends..we got salmon on the copper river and halibut on the Kenai. I still enjoy Abalone diving on the Mendo/Sonoma coast, and go deer hunting every year at Hayfork,Ca. (Trinity county).I may have to grow old, but I refuse to grow up.

Workplace
I worked as an auto mechanic in Napa and St. Helena for 10 years after my discharge from the Air Force. I decided to get back into electronics (my specialty in the Air Force)so I returned to the Air Force Reserves for training. After training, I was hired with Lanier Worldwide as a Field Service Tech. 27 years later, I'm still doing that job, although my division was purchased from Lanier by Medquist in 2000.
Military
I joined the Air Force after high school.After 1 year of tech school at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Ms. I served 3 years at Birkenfeld AS. Germany. After discharge and returning to Napa, a friend talked me into joining The Army National Guard where I served as a Demolition Sgt. with Co. 579th Combat Engr Bn. Napa,Ca. Six years later I Re-enlisted with the Air Force Reserves.After another 1 year at Keesler AFB for training, I was assigned to Travis AFB, Ca. as a Navagation Systems Tech on the air craft. I was discharged from the military with 17years service after a disabling injury suffered in a motorcycle accident.
