After leaving Hempfield in '61 I entered the USAF for 4 years. I was based in Texas, Michigan with the Strategic Air Command and Japan with an Air Rescue Unit. I enrolled at Penn State's Fayette campus upon my discharge and met and married my wife Diane, a '64 Connellsville graduate.
I secured a job with Bell of Pennsylvania in Wilkes Barre and quit to secure a Penn State Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. I returned to Bell in Stroudsburg upon my graduation. I retired in December 2002 (Verizon) after 34 years and various engineering and/or staff support positions in Reading, Norristown, Valley Forge, Philadelphia and Silver Springs, MD.
