Larry's Story
Life
After High School I worked at LeeÂs Produce in Rogue River and went to Southern Oregon State College (now Southern Oregon University) taking pre-engineering. Every engineer I met told me to learn all the math I could. My third year I transferred to Oregon State College, after which I decided I didnÂt want to be an engineer, and thus became a college dropout for 7 years (I returned to working at LeeÂs Produce). tudies Science/Math, and then continued on to get a M.S. in General Studies Science/Math. A year later (Fall 1992) I got a part-time instructor position for the Math Department at Southern Oregon University (where I have been ever since). I managed to get a job that didnÂt require me to get a haircut! I have a nickname at Southern Oregon University: Hairy Larry.
Back when I was working on my MasterÂs degree my wife Laura and I were starting a family and a new business: ShrewÂs House Bed & Breakfast, which we opened in 1990 and then sold in 1998.
