Larry Van Loon:  

Life As a tot, Larry van Loon emigrated to the U.S. with his family on the last North Branch, goat-farm-bound voyage of the ill-fated Andrea Doria. He is still waiting for his ship to come in. During his years at SHS, musical, artistic, and theatrical activities prevailed over reason. Stewart Schenck was and still is a hero. Larry continued with his academic training at the Hartford Art School of the University Of Hartford but moved over to the Hartt College Of Music, same institution, the next year. Here he had the opportunity to perform with and under the direction of notables such as Aaron Copeland, Isaac Stern, and Leonard Rose. This should have led him down a more conservative path. But it was the 70's. After hitching around the country and living in a handbuilt shack in the Rockies, Kansas City happened to Larry.
