Larue's Story
It seems like just yesterday that we were in high school. I've been through a lot, both good and bad, but it seems like the time has flown by.
After graduating, I attended Southeastern in Hammond for 1-1/2 years. I then joined the Navy.
I was in Naval Aviation and fortunate enough to see a lot of the world. I was stationed in Naples, Italy for two years and had a great time in Europe. My next two years was with RVAH-6, a reconnaissance squadron. I was stationed on the USS Kitty Hawk off the coast of Vietnam which wasn't all bad. We were only at sea thirty days at a time, and we pulled into different ports, so I got to see a lot of different places, Hawaii, Hong Kong, Japan, the Philippines, etc.
After my four years in the Navy, I went back to college at LSU in Baton Rouge. After 1-1/2 years...Expand for more
there, I thought I new everything, so I dropped out and went to work (big mistake).
I was married to a former classmate Judy Meaux for nine years. We had two sons, Jarrett and Brian. Judy and I were divorced in 1979. I met Pat Moore in 1984 and we were together for the next 22 years. I was transferred to Houston in 1991, and I'm still here.
My company plans and schedules the maintenance for Petro-Chemical Plants in the Houston area.
Pat and I settled in a small community located on the east side of Houston called Seabrook. It's a nice area and we met a lot of good friends here. I'm a big fan of LSU sports, so I try to attend as many games as possible and tail gate with friends.
Pat passed away three years ago. I have been thinking about moving back to Louisiana, but haven't made it yet.
