Cheryl's Story
Life
During 8th grade atPH Middle school, I moved to Illinois Grades 9-10 then moved back to Piedmont for my Junior Year. My Mom died so I finised HS in Campbell. But, Piedmont is where I call home. Though I didn't Graduate with the class I was invited to the 10 yr reunion. I moved to Oregon in 85 because I love the outdoors and wanted to live in an area that had a little bit of everything. Bend has been a dream come true for me.
I retired from nursing after 23 years in 2003 after nearly dying from hypothermia in a freak accident. I survived what no doctor said I would. Then In 2005 I was in another accident involving a horse I was training. This was my wake up call, so now I look at life a whole lot differently and wanted to do what I truely love. So now I'm self employed and work as an independant artist...Expand for more
painting murals. To be truely happy, I've simplified my life to enjoy the people I love more. I am happily married to the most wonderful man and have a son and a daughter both on their own now. I live in the country, and love the peace and serenity of the forest. We are outdoorsy people. Love to hike, Mountain bike, ski Mt. Bachelor, and be with friends and family. Even though my accident limits some of my favorite things, I take what I can get and I'm content for just having the experience.
Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect but even so, never take your life for granted and tell your significant others how much you love them everyday. And if I had to do my life all over again I would spend more time with friends and work less. I've learned that outside of that, everything else is just vanity.
