Laura's Story
Life
Hello all,
I have been married to Jon Harrison of LaVerne, California for the past 15 years. We have two daughters - Jayda (13) and Ashton(10) whom I currently homeschool. I received my BA in business from Columbia and went on to get a Master's degree in Project Management and am currently pursuing my PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences after which I will open my own consulting firm in either Atlanta (where we currently live) or back in Salt Lake City (where we want to live).
Lat year I went through carcinoid cancer and ever since have tried to make everyday count and live life to the fullest.
This past weekend I went to McEachern's homecoming game against Campbell (we lost 10 - 0 by the way) and found that I very much still love both football and marching band. My oldest daughter wants to be in marching band also!!
My husband and I own a home in Hiram, GA and (since our weeks are so full) usually spend our weekends watching TV shows on DVD...Expand for more
- some of our favs are Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, MacGyver, Lost, 24, Pretender, and look forward to getting more for Christmas!! I know we must sound like big geeks but in my opinion there's nothing like a lazy weekend with the family laying in our oversized bed, with snacks and good shows on TV!! Life is too hectic these days to fill up my weekends with running around!!
I look forward to our 20th reunion that's coming up soon and hope to see many of you there. I would LOVE to hear for any/all of my old buddies!
School
Mac Bowman was the greatest teacher I had - he showed faith and confidence in me that no one else had up to that point in my life. When he put me in as drum major I finally began believing that I could do something with my life. Because of him I have gone on and done many things that I would not have attempted before. He was a great teacher, a great man, an incredible mentor, and most importantly a true friend. I miss him greatly!
