Laura's Story
Life
I'm married to a wonderful man (another Tampa native) and we are constantly on the go. Between the small business we've started, my full-time job and his job with WQYK, we're pretty darn busy. We take to the water on our boat every chance we get, whether fishing or just cruising up the river to Rick's and viewing downtown from the other side, all lit up at night.
We're a kind of a lopsided Brady Bunch with his four boys and my two girls, as well as two "step daughters" (my husbands ex's two girls). We've got 4 grandkids with two of our sons having one each and I've adjusted to being a grandmother in my own right (hey! I wasn't ready yet for t...Expand for more
he "granny" label, ha!) to our #2 daughter's 3 y/o and 1 y/o. Now we're planning #1 daughter's wedding for sometime later this year, so life is great and I am tickled to death! The kids come and go and sometimes we're lucky to have a couple of months of empty nest, after having seven of us here at one point.
I've worked for Hillsborough County for over 20 years, first with the Zoning Department and currently as a MIS Systems Coordinator with Health & Social Services. I still live here in Tampa, not far from the neighborhood where I was raised.
