Laura's Story
Life
I have been married to the same man since May 20, 1978, Darrell Casoli. We have one beautiful daughter, Melissa. She was born January 16, 1980 (not 6 months after the wedding for those who thought that was why I got married so young!) She is married, has 3 beautiful step daughters and she and her husband, David, own their own business in Harbor City, CA. The first 18 years of my marriage was spent traveling around to different places with my husband because he had a career in the US Navy Band until he retired in 1996. We have lived in Newport, RI, Guam, back to Newport, Virginia Beach, VA, Charleston, SC and San Diego, CA. After Darrell retired we waited for Melissa to graduate from high school (Poway High School in Poway, CA) and then we packed up and moved to his hometown of Aliquippa, PA. Darrell pursued a new career in IT Technical Support and he also teaches at a satellite branch of the University of Pittsburgh. He still loves his music, but doesn't have as much time to devote to it as a "civilian" as he did during his Naval career. retail/cashiering and supervising jobs until we moved to Charleston, SC in 1984. That is when I got my break into banking. I became a Bank Teller and worked my way up over 13 years to Branch Operations Manager in a bank in San Diego. I held that job until December 1998 when we packed up and moved to Aliquippa. In PA, I dabbled a little in internet banking with a company that specialized in that, but in 2001, the Banks I was assigned to were in the World Trade Buildings on September 11, 2001 and I was subsequently laid off. That turned out to be the best thing for me. I am now working for a Title Services company that is based out of Aliquippa, but I live and work in Irvine, CA. Darrell is still in PA, but that is only until his contractual obligation to Alcoa is completed at the end of the year. Then he will be joining me out here again. Our daughter lives just south of Los Angeles in a town near Rancho Palos Verdes with her family, so we are all looking forward to living in the same State together again!
