Laura's Story
Hello to everyone who reads this; some of you may be old friends, some old class members, some just wanting to get to know me. After I graduated in '69, I got married. We lived in College Station until my husband got his Master's degree in Architecture in 1971. We then moved to Oklahoma City and started our family. Our first two children were born there but we soon returned to Texas in 1974. We lived in Dallas for a while, then Marshall, then Longview and back to Dallas. Our last two children were born in Dallas. We lived in Lake Highlands where all our children graduated from except the baby. In 1995, we moved to the small town of Emory, Tx. Wow, it was like moving back in time. Everyone was friendly, people left their keys in their cars, hardly anyone locked their doors, lol. It was incredible! Now our grandkids love to come visit us in ...Expand for more
the country.
My husband is still an architect. He works for HKS, Inc. in Dallas, Tx. He does a lot of traveling for them and does construction administration. I stay at home and sell Avon, baby sit grandkids and take care of the animals. We also raise Polled Hereford cattle. One of our granddaughters showed one a couple of years ago in Ft. Worth and that was so much fun! I speak of our grandkids, we now have 10, and they definitely keep us busy.
I could go on and on about our family but I won't bore you, lol. I hope to hear from you, also. It would be fun to reconnect with old friends!
GO LOBOS!!!
I'll never forget the club house we had between elementary school and jr. high. The ones who were part of it will remember. We played records, baseball, just hung out, went riding in my uncle's jeep. Hope to hear from some of you. Love you all!
