Laura's Story
Although I didn't attend Eureka High School but for a few months in my Sophmore year (in 1971), I do have friends I keep in touch with.
I attended Jacobs Jr High from 1969 - 1971. My friends were Silvia Ranstrom, Georgia Bronson, Eddie Carlson, Carmen Avila, Jan Filgas, Laurie Muzzin, Jennifer Baker, Sheri Stark, Lisa Potten, Dawn Gatchell, Carol Deskins and Cathy Barrong. Those were the people I thought were worth having as friends. There were a few others not worth mentioning.
Went to school in the Bay Area, and graduated in 1974.
I am married with one grown daughter, two grandsons and three still at home. My husband graduated from Stanford with an MS, in Elec. Engineering, in 1993. Currently he works as an Elec. Engineer (ASIC design), in the SF Bay Area. We were married in 1994, had our son in 1997. We went on to adopt two more children, in 2001.
My latest endeavor was to receive my Culinary degree from the Professional Culinary Inst...Expand for more
itute, in Campbell, California. I received a full Culinary degree/diploma on November 1, 2008. Both of my culinary and pastry chef instructors were masters. My instructor Klaus Freidenreich, CMC, was a five time Olympic gold medalist and a dream come true to be able to learn from such a talented Master Chef. My plans are to take all that I have learned and become a classical culinary teacher, in Northern California.
The Professional Culinary Institute, beat all competitors at the prestigious World Knorr Culinary Grand Prix Competition, in Glasgow, Scotland, March 2-4, 2009. PCI took best overall culinary school in the world, how cool is that? We tok the world title away from the Canadians!!! How cool is that, eh?
Check out my message board. I've included a press release for the competition I mentioned.
I left the Eureka party scene to get a new outlook...it was a good choice. Thank God we don't get everything we wish for!
Ciao, Chef Laura @=;-)
