Laura's Story

Life I grew up as a military brat so we moved every 2 to 3 years which was a vary hard thing for me to enjoy. We started out in Maryland then moved to California for a few years. When I was about 3 we moved to Japan for 2 years. There I remember I used to play with a little girl whom I can not remember her name. The house we lived in had what I called paper walls and the bathroom was something where you had to go outside and go in a whole. hehehe There was a restaurant that to this day still has my photo on the wall for good luck. In this region they thought blonde hair was good luck so I used to have people always touching my hair thinking it would bring them good luck. We then moved to Hawaii where I spent my kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade years at Makapu Elementary school. Some friends included Tina Hurt, Tommy Pedepinto and Mike Dodd (who gave me my first kiss). We lived on Manning Court in an apartment complex not to far from the school. We then moved to Pennsylvania as I was in 3rd, 4th, 5th and a few months of 6th grade. I attended Hallowell elementary and Keith Valley Middle school. Some friends I actually remember were my best friend Melissa Reilly and Chris Keyser. I lived in an apartment called the Fair Oaks apartments in Horsham PA. My friend Missy and I used to go to the Willow Grove Mall and play elevator operator. We also loved going to a place called Friendly's which had the best ice cream ever. :) My 5th grade dance date was Chris Keyser who was one of the hottest kids at school, I was very happy and for the first time wore a skirt. Yeah I hated it. Other people I remember were Mike Versio, Greg Whitmer, Cathy Stover and Tom Bowers. We then ventured to California where I went to Mission elementary, Lincoln and Palm Desert high. Friends I hung with were Tyrone Marshall, Russell McKay, Haley Griffiths, Stacy Hagman and her sister Tammy Hagman, Sunny Mendoza and Rob Knight just to name a few. My favorite teach at Mission was Mrs. Brown, she was the absolute best. I had a lot of different life "issues" during this time in my life. I started dating Rob Knight when we were in the 6t...Expand for more
h grade and we were off and on until we were almost 16. I was a hellion during my early teen years and did a lot of things I am not proud of now. Those were definately not the best years of my life but the memories I do have and choose to remember are some great times. I then met my husband at age 16 in Oceanside, he was a Marine on Camp Pendelton. I knew the first day I met him that he was the one I would be with forever and so far I was right. We moved to Florida where I had my 1st daughter Ka-Lynn, then we had 6 more children daughter Kyrstin, son Danny, son Devyn, son Destyn and son Jadyn. These are my lives and I would not change how young I was when they were born. My husband and I met in 1992, had 3 kids then decided to finally get married in 1997, and we had 3 more after that. We currently live in Minnesota and have for the last 11 or so years. We have had some very hard times together but in the end we have grown stronger, our love has grown stronger and eventually our lives will be happier. In 2001 I operated my own house painting company which lasted about 1 1/2 years before I decided to start a new venture. So I became a Real Estate Appraiser and started my own business doing that. Which I still currently operate but now I am at a point in the business where I get to sit home, have employees and just collect a check. grin. We recently semi adopted a 14 yr old who is now 17 yrs old. She is one of the best kids (besides my own) whom I have ever met. Her name is Emily and we hope she will be with us forever because as far as we are concerned she is our daughter. My longer term goal is to eventually be debt free, send all my children to a good college and have a home large enough to either adopt more children or at least big enough to allow for my future grandchildren to have a great place to play. A large country farm with our own animals and growing our own fruits and veggies is something I hope we can do in the next 5 years. Well that is my life story, a whole lot of nothing and a whole lot of something all rolled into 32 years of life. If you have read this I hope I didn't bore u.
