Laura's Story
Life
I'm married with two children, ages 35 and 45. Son is 35 years old and is an Executive Chef at The Porch in Orlando. Daughter is 45 years old and persuing a carrer in Interior Design. I've been a registered nurse for 38 years. I live out towards the beach. I'm retired! Living THE DREAM!
School
I began elementary school in Jacksonville, Florida at Venetia Elementary School. Then went to junior high school at Lakeshore Junior High in Jacksonville also. I attended high school at Robert E. Lee High School, never venturing out of my hometown, Jacksonville, FL. WESTSIDE is the BEST SIDE!
College
I did my college education the hard way. I became an L.P.N. and worked fulltime during the day and took a couple of college courses at night at Florida Juni...Expand for more
or College. Took me 8 years to obtain my Assocate's Degree in Nursing. But, HEY! I got it! I've been in the Nursing Profession for 35 years now.
Workplace
I began my career at Riverside Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. I worked at Riverside Hospital for 19 years until they were closed down in 1996. I then went to St. Vincent's Medical Center just down the street on Riverside Avenue. I worked at St. V's for 4 years in the Short Stay Dept. I moved on to an office environment. I was a Triage Nurse at North FL OB/GYN (for a year). From there I worked at Southeastern Pulmonary Rehabilitation in Jacksonville Beach until their closing. (a year also) I then did some agency work with North FL Health Services. I am currently employed at Southpoint Surgery Center.
