Laurie's Story
Dia Dhuit a Chairde, Irish for Hello friends. After graduating from to BPHS , went to Fullerton Junior College, graduated, then transferred to CSULA and earned my degree in Sociology. Not a marketable degree in 1971, so I went back to school. Was accepted into the nursing program at The University of Texas and moved to Austin.. Earned my BSN (with honors) in 1975. Nursing truly was my passion! I worked in various areas of nursing,, but my love was critical care, specifically cardiology. I spent the last 22 years of my career, in the IC...Expand for more
Us at the University of Michigan Hospitals. Retired in 2001. Along the way, married, had two wonderful children, a boy and a girl, and am now an empty nester. Currently I drive cars/trucks for a large dealership, honing my Irish language skills, crocheting and donating baby blankets for The Ronald McDonald House. Also, along the way I have survived breast cancer, which changed my perspective on life and how I wanted to live mine. Today, I hope people see as me as a person who is kind, has integrity and has strength of her convictions.
