Laura's Story
Life
I studied voice and acting (opera) at Cypress College, Cal State Fullerton, and Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. Still do lots of singing.
I got married in l981, and had three kids in the Fall of l982, Fall l983, and
fall l984. We moved to Kansas City, then Chicago, and then here to Highlands Ranch (Denver area) where we have lived for 28 years in a beautiful 2-story house with finished basement. My husband is a retired sergeant with a local Sheriff's office.
My kids are now 30(Marshall), 31 (April), and 32 (Scott). Scott is working as a dispatcher for RTD. He is also a great musician, and has his own band for which he writes music, sings, plays guitar, and drums. He has made s few cd's. Scott is getting married on August 22nd. d from CU Denver in 2007. She sings, plays flute, and piano. Also plays softball and kickball, and travels alot. She got married in April at Coors Field where the Rockies play and she met husband Eric playing on a softball team. Marshall is a deputy for Arapahoe County. He enjoys working on his computer and his cars. He also has a nice girlfriend.
Gary and I have been married for 34 years (on 9/11!). I keep busy teaching music at a preschool (my 21st year). I teach piano, guitar, and voice after school. I still sing at churches, weddings, clubs, retirement homes, as a soloist for choirs, and in a small group with five other women, and do duets with one of the sopranos in the group. Also love to sew, garden, crochet, go to concerts and plays with my husband and go to the opera. Life is great!
