Laura's Story
After graduating in '80, I decided against college at the time. If I had to do it over again, I would've gone to college right out of high school, but at that time, I wasn't ready for anymore school. I ended up working at Binghamton Savings Bank from 1981 through 2003. I did earn an Accounting Degree while I worked at the Bank. During all that time, we went from Binghamton Savings Bank to BSB Bank & Trust (when it became a commercial bank)and then in 2003, it became Partners Trust Bank and almost 200 of us were laid off. I ended up going to school for a Medical Assisting Degree and worked at Lourdes-Riverside Medical for a little bit and while I really enjoyed it, it definitely did not pay well. So, I went back ...Expand for more
to the bank, which was Partners Trust. In November 2007, M & T took over and I left in January 2008. I'm now working as a bookkeeper and am enjoying it.
I know alot of people lose contact with high school friends....I had great friends in high school and stayed in touch with them up through probably the last 10 years or so. I am in contact with a couple, that I see now and again. That's how life works.....I guess.
I have a 15 year old son from a previous marriage. He is a sophomore at Maine-Endwell. I am remarried to a great guy - Jeff Terry- who, coincidently graduated with us (Vestal Class of 1980). Life is great and if it weren't for our past (friends, school, memories) we wouldn't be who we are today.
