Laura's Story
After H.S. I went on to Grace Bible College in Grand Rapids. I attended full-time for 2 years and came close to getting a degree but chose to get married. My husband, Ron Bell, and I immediately moved out to CA, Monterey Bay area (Central Coast), only 1/2 hour from Pebble Beach, city of Salinas where most of your lettuce, cauliflower, strawberries, etc. come from. I love all the good produce as I am mostly vegetarian (and much better off physically). My husband started out in the pig raising business but after 1 1/2 yrs. we went into the cleaning business. That was a good business and allowed me to stay home with our first child, Kayleen. After 4 yrs of marriage we moved back to MI, where we had 2 more children, Jaclyn and Kevin. They are now 23, 19, and 17. Wow! How time flies! My oldest is now married to Scott Jasperse and they reside in Jenison, just 5 blks. fro...Expand for more
m Meijers, if you know where that is. They have an almost two-yr. old son, Samuel and are expecting a daughter mid-July. I will be visiting there for 5 weeks around that time. My husband, Ron, has just changed careers two years ago after having a window cleaning business for most of our marriage. He is a sales rep. for Rain For Rent (sell and rent irrigation equip. to farmers, construction, etc.). I have home-schooled my children most of their ed. and in the last 8 years I've done housekeeping part-time. I have enjoyed being invovled in churches, singing and playing piano, and being with friends. I now lead a sing-a-long (although most cannot sing along) in a nursing home and love it. I would like to do more of that, or at least more singing. I am at a cross-roads since my children are mostly grown up and I would like to do different kind of work. Maybe concerts! :-)
