I was a single mom for the better part of 12 years after divorcing Sebastian Elliott (Dobson Alum 1984). I struggled with low self-esteem, anorexia, bulimia, obsessive disorder, and depression. I worked my bottom off, often working three jobs at once to make ends meet. My girls and I were money poor, but we were rich with love and affection. The Lord always provided, whether it be job opportunities, unexpected income or just the hope of something better to come. The Lord never gives us more than we can handle, although I didn't think so at the time. If I had it all to do again, I wouldn't change a thing, including the stuff I'm not proud of. My past experiences make me who I am today. I can conquer anything, and I am capable of all things with the Lord's help. I have two amazing daughters, Samantha 35 married and living on an Airforce base in Tucson, and Melanie 33. Both girls have been blessed to be stay-at-home moms, although Sam is perusing her degree in Psychology currently. Melanie is everything I wasn't in high school. She's confident, outgoing, fashionable, and excels academically. I have worked for my school district for 23 years and love, love, love what I do. It is also where I met my husband.
