Laura's Story
When I look back on my high school days, I have to laugh a lot. Who could look at all that big hair and makeup and not laugh?
Seriously, we attended public high school during one of its finest eras, hmmm? Still amazing to me that we had MTV in the school library, a smoke hole where underaged tobacco use was encouraged and school dances held beneath Budweiser signs.
I truly hope that I am a much better, wiser, stronger person now than I was in the days when we in unison shouted "SOMDEC" across a football stadium.
Let's see... after leaving Hale I attended OU, majored in journalism, and worked for newspapers in Bartlesville, Muskogee, Osage County and Tulsa. These days you can find my byline in Tulsa World ...Expand for more
and Bartlesville Magazine - a spectacular publication for which I am honored to serve as editor.
Married with children - three girls and a boy. Bet nobody saw that coming when I was in high school and college. Guess everyone grows up sometime!
Biggest joys - my relationship with God and family, the privilege of living in a free country, the view of a sunset over a lake, hugs from my kids and anything chocolate.
Biggest regrets - the hurt I caused others when I was young and stupid. And maybe hurt I still cause from time to time when I'm old and stupid.
All my best to my former classmates and friends....I thank you sincerely for putting up with me all those years and hope your lives are going splendidly!
