Laurel's Story
I am the mother of two children my daughter I had while in high school she turned 33 in September this year. She has given me two beautiful grandsons the oldest is nine and the youngest is two.. My son turned 21 the end of July and lives in Mt. Juliet now with his grandparents as of last 2008. I live in Ohio at the moment but have lived in GA,TN,AL,FL,TX and OR. I love the ocean but miss the changing of seasons in Tennessee and at least in Tennessee you can swim in a body of water and not worry about gators or shark bites. A few years ago it was the beaver biting people cause they were rabid. Then we were here the year of the big hurricanes Ivan and the like we spent seven days at one point with no power in sweltering heat lining up for water, ice and MRE's. I have lost several good friends thru the years most recent was Kenny Willoughby who even kept in touch with my parents when I was not living in Tennessee any more. He passed away of a sudden heart attack December 10th of 2008 I was very upset it was so out of the blue. He showed up in the middle of the night years ago on leave from the Navy when his brother David finally passed after a horrible car wreck on HWY 109 and got ...Expand for more
a shot gun pulled on him for knocking on the wrong window at 2:00 am in the morning at my parents house. I don't know how many remember Kenny but he had a studder and it took him a minute to get the words out to explain to my father who he was and why he was there in the bushes outside my old window. We had my mothers brother in town at the time and I was in another room in the house to help make room for him to stay awhile. I remember others no longer here Paul Porter (auto accident),Glen Cannon (drowned) and Neil Townsend (motorcycle wreck) who I worked with at the Hermitage McDonalds and who often rode me home after shift. There are others Tommy Lee I heard was shot in the Kroger parking lot Melissa Waddell (lung cancer) and I am sure there are others as well as several that never made it to graduation. To those no longer with us I wish their families the best and mourn the loss of old friends. To those still with us I look forward to hearing from you soon and hearing your stories as well. I figured out how to use my scanner and photo editor so I have pictures up here and am adding photos to myspace as well once I get started I go nuts making albums and posting new pictures.
