Lauren's Story

Life Hey, I am writing to anyone who cares to find out what has happened in my life since high school. First things first....The very night of graduation, after the ceremony, my parents threw me, and my brothers into our van and off to Texas we went (My father got a new job, he was working at Lockheed with John McCures brother). We only lived in San Antonio, Texas for about six months when my mother said she had enough of the place, and then it was off to Tennessee. I got a great job there, which started out as a temporary position, as I was still only 17 years old. Once I turned 18, they hired me full time. I worked as secretary to the Vice President at a company called, Murray Ohio Manufacturing Company (they make lawnmowers and bicycles). I started working there in 1983, and met the love of my life there as well in 1990. They say you should never get your honey where you make your money, but oh well! In 1991 I was married to Todd Perry. We had only been married for about 9 months, when my hysband got a job offer out of state that we couldn't refuse! So, off to Indiana we went. Todd was now working for Roadmaster Corporation, we had bought our first house, and I was pregnant with out first child. In 1993 Kristen Perry was born. Needless to say, I was now a stay at home Mom, and loved every minute of it! Then in 1996 Matthew Perry was born. Now I had a boy and a girl, who could ask for anything more! Some help! Both our parents lived out of state, so I had the kid's and the daily chores to myself. To this day both sets of parents live between 5 and 10 hours away, so we don't see them all that much. Which is a shame because I feel that kid's really n...Expand for more
eed to stay connected with their families. Then in 1997 Roadmaster Corporation got bought out by Brunswick Corporation and Todd lost his job. It took about 3 months and he found a job in St. Louis, MO. Hey lived there by himself, and me and the kid's resided in Indiana for almost 6 months. It was really hard on everyone, but we made it work, with weekend visits. We all moved together to Chesterfield, MO in 1998 and have been there every since. It's a great city to live in, and the public schools here are top notch. There is alot to do here in St. Louis, and we are all big Cardinals fans! Just recently however, my husband changed jobs and is now working as the Executive Director of: The Pujols Family Foundation. This is a foundation set up by Albert and Deidre Pujols (Albert being the first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals). This is like the dream job for Todd! He can't wait to wake up every morning and go to work! Unfortunately for me, going to work for him means going to his home office! The foundation started about a month ago, and we really appreciate all the love and support we have been gettting. The foundation is based on Alberts faith in God, and his love for others. He wants to give back to the community. He supports the Down Syndrome Association, as his daughter Isabella has Downs. He also wants to help those that are less fortunate, and live in the Domican Republic, his native country. You can check out his website at: Pujolsfamilyfoundation.org. Life is Good! I have happy healthy children, a wonderful husband who is a great father, and I thank God for my blessings each and every day! I hope all that are reading this are as blesssed as I am!
