Lauren's Story
I didn't attend graduation cuz I went to Japan 3/79-80 (which saved my life). Then Scripps in Claremont 80-82, yr in Canterbury England ended with a baby and marraige 83, finished education w/ husband's help 87 and had 2nd son, 2 days after diploma in hand.Came over to Brussels in 8/87, spent 5 yrs there-- we had two Bxls'sprouts'and then we moved to Tournai, Belgium where our two youngest were born which adds up to six kids and 21yrs in Belgium.
Very happy, hectic life with church, music, family...I began studies to become an English teacher for public High School 1.5 yrs ago which is a kick.I loved being at home and...Expand for more
now I'm discovering work when most ppl are going home to put their feet up. I trust it will keep me young at heart, if not elsewhere!My husband wishes he could retire to putter around creating great furniture/sculpture/playing baroque music...but on my pay it's not going to happen soon!
Anyway, these are the fun times when the kids are growing up, studying and moving out into the world.Very satisfying and strange to realize that we really do get to stand back and watch them sail off into adventures that are much more interesting than the best written novel.
