Laurene's Story
Life
I currently live in Smyrna, GA... much more "suburb" than I would have ever thought I would choose, but I definitely like being out of the city a bit. Surprisingly to me, I could actually see myself even further out at some point. My plans for the future involve a move to St Simons Island, GA. In fact, I was on my way to making the move when my daughter was born 10 weeks early at 1lb. 11oz. Her 5 month hospital stay caused me to put the plans on hold for a bit, but hopefully we'll be able to start up again soon! I spent the 10 years following college graduation living in the Buckhead and Virginia Highlands areas of Atlanta, and finally got my fill of the city. At this point a small beach town is calling my name!

School
No question my crush on Jay Burkette started in the 5th grade and continued through college... I always had a weakness for the blonde hair and blue eyes, I guess.
I didn't really feel particularly inspired by any of my high school teachers, however I did love Coach Pendergrass in the 7th grade.
Funniest, craziest and happiest memories are all too abundant to mention. I guess any of our "road trips" in the Crumley or Martin vans would suffice.
College
After a year at Gainesville Junior College, I completed my degree at UGA, where I was a Business Management major with a focus in Human Resource Management. I loved Athens and the time I spent there. I could have lived there forever I think.
Workplace
After 13 years as a sales representative, I now stay home with my only daughter and work much harder than I have ever worked before.
