Laurie's Story

Hello All, Was so surprised to find our yearbook on this site! So much has happened to us all since the 70's and hope someday to have a reunion that many can attend and we have the chance to reconnect. I live in Augusta, Me., now...have two fantastic sons who have evolved into caring, smart, funny and loveable men. They are the loves of my life. I am a teacher (3rd career!) and am in the middle of my Ph.D. progra...Expand for more
m in education. My 6th grade students call me a "school-a-holic" which makes me laugh, but I hope to create positive social changes in education once I am done. This fall I will be part of the Southern Maine Writing Project, am a cancer survivor, and other than a few wrinkles here and there, look pretty much the same as I did when I left the area. Someone is not happy with my decision to work this morning!
Funny how we worry our whole lives about whether we are pretty, smart enough, and so on and on. Throw back picture to when I was 21 or 22 - I remember feeling so awkward and yet I was perfectly perfect just as me!
1990 Kingfield Days. Donald and Nick (20 months) arriving at a potluck supper at Vange & Everett's on Maple Street. I was pregnant with Noah and can still remember that warm July afternoon like it was yesterday!
Such a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Will close party on Monday - beautiful, beautiful new warmers and spring scents.
