Laurie's Story
Life
Hi Everyone. I married class mate George McGee (If you're reading this from Mt. Whitney High School) I went to 3 different High Schools, Lake Washington high in Kirkland, Washington, Walnut high in Walnut, Calif. and Mt. Whitney high in Visalia, Calif, where I graduated. We celebrated our 36st wedding anniversary last Feb. We have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. We live in Ivins, Utah which is in beautiful southern Utah. 30 min. from Zion Nat'l Park, 2 hours from Vegas, Hour and a half from the Grand Canyon and Lake Powell. I unfortunately no longer work due to health problems, but was a Diet Technician at our local hospital for 9 1/2 years. I loved my job. George is a Facilities and Plant operations manager at a hospital and also runs his owns Air Conditioning, heating, & refrigeration business on the side. ce our kids are all grown and out of the house we have been doing some traveling and loving it. We love NASCAR, basketball & football although we like different drivers and teams. Our house can get pretty interesting during a race or game!
School
I would have to say my biggest crush in high school is the man I married, George McGee. I meet him my senior year in co-ed P.E. when they made us do sqaure dancing. He tells me he saw me for the first time outside the gym waiting to get in and told his friends he was going to ask me to be his partner. The first day we were put in squares and assigned a partner and he wasn't my partner, but was in my group. He kept cracking jokes trying to get my attention and I thought to myself, who is this goat roper. The next day the boys were told to pick a partner and here he came. I tease him it was love at second sight. I have been his partner ever since!
