Laurie's Story
I married my high school boyfriend (Velton Viles, Southeast HS) shortly after graduating Grandview high school in 1970. Our oldest, Greg, was born in 1971 and our youngest, Mike, was born in1975. Both sons are married and have blessed me with lovely granddaughters. When Greg and Mike were young, we were very involved in Boy Scouts, little league, marching band, anything and everything that little boys like to do.
I have had various jobs throughout my working life but mostly stayed in the pharmaceutical research business. I earned an AA in Computer Science and a BA in Business along the way. I've been a lab tech, software engineer, computer programmer and now I'm a clinicial data coordinator managing and 'cleaning' the data that is generated from clinical trial...Expand for more
s. I like the idea that the work I do brings new pharmaceuticals to improve all our lives.
I love to travel. There's never enough time or money to travel as much as I want but I do as much as I can. I have 3 very spoiled miniature dachshunds that live with us and are my "babies".
I adore all my "new" old friends from the past that I have reconnected with. I keep asking myself "why didn't I get to know these great people better when we were all in high school together?" I may have missed the boat back then but I'm enjoying knowing them now! We was truly blessed to be a teenager in Grandview MO in the sixties. Best era...great music...awesome people.
UPDATE: divorced in 2012. Married Fred Taylor (GHS class 1968) in 2017. Life continues as a fascinating journey.
