Laurie's Story
Those who knew me in High School will most likely remember me as an Artist and Party Animal. >.>
But, I calmed down quite a bit after graduation. I do endurance training on a Cannondale and my favorite Bike Jersey say, "I'm Just A Hippy Chick!", lol.
My husband and I will be celebrating our 23rd wedding anniversary on April 30th, 2011, although we lived together for 8 years before that. The first two of those years we traveled around the USA and got to know the country and people while learning everything about each other.
We settled in Brooklyn, NY in 1983 - (my husband's home turf), and I have been doing Medical Billing ever since. First for private doctors, and for the past ten years for The City of New York, Health & Hospitals Corporation, as an Out Patient, Emergency Department & Ambulatory Surgery Biller and Claims Tro...Expand for more
ubleshooter in one of their 11 facilities. Just recently became vested for my pension. Yay!!! Feels sort of weird celebrating getting old though. =\
No children, but several great 'surrogates' in the form of dogs, including our most recent - a six month old Basset Hound miixed-breed named 'Bella'. She is spoiled rotten and a hot mess. My husband thinks she's part Beagle, but Im convinced she's part Dachshund. When our vet first saw her, he said, "Just tell everyone she is a big muscular dachshund". xD
I look forward to hearing from some old friends, and maybe even some new ones. Peace. =]
After 35 wonderful years together, my husband passed away on Labor Day, 9/7/15. I love him dearly, and miss him terribly. Along with this, other 'issues' have made 2015 the worst year of my life. Here's hoping for a better 2016!
