Laurie's Story

Life I have been in office management for 40 years, working in my parent's real estate office for 5 years, a mining engineering company for 10 years, and a civil engineering company in Tucson for 18 years, which closed it's doors in August, 2009 after 32 years in business. I'm now managing the office for Darling Geomatics. Love the people and the job. I was divorced in 1989 after 14 years of marriage and have two children: Brian is 32 and living in Mesa, AZ as a boat repair technician and married to Heather. Leah is 29 and graduated from Pima Medical Institute in phlebotomy and Medical Assistant Certification. She lives in Richmond, VA with her husband, Jeffery. She has a 9 year old son who is the light of my life. I'm at the point in my life where I am starting to think about what I want to do in 10 years - NOT WORK!!! Have been socking away as many retirement dollars as possible (but that balance sure changed in 2008!) so I can have some fun before it's too late. Had been living in Sonoita, AZ for a couple of year...Expand for more
s, but back to Tucson in Feb 2011. I'm very active in New Spirit Lutheran Church at Camino Seco & Old Spanish Trail, working with the Tucson Community Food Bank, Blessings in a Backpack (sending food home on Fridays to 100 elementary children every week), and the homeless. l I've been very blessed with a wonderful, large family of which most are living in Tucson, so we have many family gatherings. The next generation of kids are now in school and sports, so there's always some activity to attend. My friends are all long time so we have lots of secrets on each other! Do girl's trips once a year and we've been to the Price if Right (one of us won a car!), The Ellen Show, The Tonite Show, and most major So. California attractions. Our favorite destination is, obviously, California (and Las Vegas)! I'm lucky enough to have friends all over the US, so between family vacations, girls' trips, and friends, I have visited most of the U.S. Looking forward to hooking up with long lost high school friends when they see my profile!

What a motley crew.....the cousins...
Next generation of cousins!
I miss this little boy so much it's unbearable sometimes. Now he has a new nana in his life...and I'm terrified of being pushed aside. He's so far away, new world, maybe another new house and new school, away from the fam
They were soooo cute! Gee and Brian.
Yup...my family...gotta love em!

Thanks girls to the best birthday sleepover ever!
OMG! Snow in Tucson on New year's eve!
TBT - I'm pretty sure we were having a good time.
We came. We danced. We conquered. Tired. Sore. Ready to come home.
Yep.
