Laurie's Story

Life Hard to believe 20+ years have gone by! It's nice to talk to everyone and see how our lives have changed, I don't feel like I'm 40, and I'm glad I'm not the only one! I've achieved more than I ever dreamed possible, although my dreams have changed over the years due to influence (who's doesn't!), but I did achieve one goal for which I'm proudest "Great Mom", it's been the most challenging and most rewarding! My favorite phrase at home is: "Who left the toilet seat up?" or "who put pop and beer in my wine cooler AGAIN!" My other favorite phrase is: "Your wearing that out in public?" Because I've finally become my mother! My daughter's favorite phrase is: "MOM!" or "Mommy I love you, can I..?" They yell the first one when they Need something, and they say the 2nd when they WANT something! My friends favorite phrase is: "Hey Laur guess what?" .... followed either by laughing, "OH MY GOD!", or drinks w/wo dancing! My friends and family are my rocks, and I feel like I'm standing on a mountain with a good view! My plan to change the world one person at a time has gone well thus far, well with a few exceptions! HA HA! Although, I think the world has changed me one person at a time...I haven't been simply Laurie since high school, I've always been someones "girlfriend" or "fiancee", then finally, Kris's wife, and Shana's mom, then Kurt's wife and Allie's mom. It will be interesting to see who I am in another 20 years! :) I've always enjoyed bumping into several of you over the years at some of the strangest places! Big Marine seemed to be a great place to run into "Jim's", The fact that I could go to other cities and run into people from school was always an awesome surprise!! Bally's fitness was another hot spot for running into folks from school! Angie if you ever read this...that guy in the leopard speedo still gives me nightmares!!! :) He took "if you've got it flaunt it" to new and scary heights! Thanks for the great me...Expand for more
mories! Especially Barb who was a bridesmaid in my first wedding (don't have a big wedding, have a big honeymoon! HA HA), I've always cherished you, and I'm grateful God blessed you! We need another girls weekend! And Cis, it's a great thing to be able to see that the people you admired in grade school are still people you can admire after all those years! Cathy Renstrom always lookin out for me! An honorable mention to Dave who was the best boyfriend a girl could ever want, and immortilized the phrase "Is there something you want that your not getting?" also who's name is mentioned as often as mine in my yearbook! Working with John Beckman my senior yr at Bridgemans, who says nice guys are hard to find! Hangin with Sandy and Pam and the phrase "Miss Meck"! Luv you guys! And What ever happend to Mike Westphal? Is Joel Domke still bouncing? And can anyone tell me where Mrs Willard or Mr Ales are now? I lost touch with them about 12 yrs ago...? And Tom Dey, if only you hadn't gotten sick on our date! :) Mike Ross, my Guardian Angel! Not many girls had their own body guard! I still giggle when I think about that doctor's friend at Pony's, running up to us yelling "you gotta get outta here, you should see the size of the guy she's with he's gonna kill you!" All the nights at Cheap Charlies and the phrase "She's not a flirt, shes a social butterfly!" Watching over me while I socialized and getting me home safe!! :) Margarita Mondays and letting me hustle pool with you!!!! (I have my own pool table now!) Thanks for teaching me all those things about guys that no girl would normally ever know (how to spot a jerk from 100 yards away, and how to make a fool out of them!)...and caring enough to save me!! John Kelly for finding me broken in August 1984 and gluing me together with love and kisses, also being the only guy I dated to ever be brutally honest with me! You guys rock! If your not mentioned, your not forgotten, I just ran out of room!
