Laurie's Story
Life
We have lived in Las Vegas for the last 30+ years and I worked for Sun Country Airlines (easy to get back to MN). With the airline industry being oh so stable, we bought a restaurant in 2008 due to the Petters incident for our "Plan B". Fortunately, Sun Country was stable and 8 years later we were ready to be done with two jobs. On to 2017- no jobs for me. Spent three years taking care of Chris’ dad and other family members. I am currently working for United Health Care from home and it is going well.
My husband, Chris, works in the architectural industry and has done mostly casinos, hence the LV address....
Our kids are MacKenzie, 35 and Jake, 36. Jake went into welding after he got out of the Army. Jake and his wife, Briana, have three kids, Ryatt, Kashton and Sylvie...Expand for more
and they reside in Vegas. Our daughter, MacKenzie, works as a physical therapy assistant and has two children, Gianna and Jax. They reside in Las Vegas. Grandkids take up a lot of our free time and we enjoy them immensely.
We were foster parents for many years when our children were young. It was rewarding, challenging and at time exhausting. We had over 80 kids through our home and looking back, we definitely had no idea what we were doing. Now that we’re older we are thinking about just doing newborns. They travel well and there is nothing else like the cuddles of a new baby.
The years have a way of creeping up and we are looking forward to winding down and spending more time with family and friends.
I have let my employer know I am like a car loan, done in 53 months.
