Laverne's Story
Life
I attended Upland elementary, middle and High School. Due to my fathers business our family moved away from Upland during my teen years, but then moved back a couple of years later. In 1975 I attended an Upland High School reunion. I was one of many who received recognition for one thing or another. I was awarded for being married the longest, which at that time was nearly ten years. I am no longer married to my first husband. I live in Missouri. Long story about what brought me here but it is a beautiful state to live. I have five beautiful children, two biological and three adopted (that I love as my own), and all of which have grown into beautiful adults. My oldest is 38 and youngest is 24. I have many vivid memories of Upland and the many friends that I had.

FAMILY NOTICE TO CLASSMATES 1965
La Verne, lost the battle to cancer of 6 years on June 26, 2008, never complaining, always in good spirits, and great attitude. Very religious, and with a wonderful hope of someday uniting with her Heavenly Father that gave her life. She was a wonderful model for everyone. She felt everyone had a purpose in life, and she certainly fulfilled hers. She touched everyone's life. She was a very involved person in the community. She would do anything for anyone who needed her help. Our prayers go out to the family in their time of mourning and sorrow. She has been an inspiration for us all, and she will be greatly missed by everyone.
WE HONOR AND CELEBRATE HER LIFE.
THANK YOU LA VERNE FOR BEING IN OUR LIVES. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN OUR HEART FOREVER AND ALWAYS
