Life
Yo, classmates! Well, I did that college thing after High School, taking a mere 5 years to get through 4 years of engineering school ... I was always a aviation oriented type, so I did the ROTC thing in college and entered Air Force pilot training in 1972. I finished in the top 10% of the class and went to Jet Fighters flying F-4s and F-16s (and sneaking rides in anything else "they" would let me strap on) during my 12 years of active duty. The GREAT part was traveling around the globe. Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Korea, Japan, Philippines and Taiwan. I also got to see Alaska in the winter for several weeks. I opted for a civilian transition in 1984 and went to work for Pratt & Whitney in South Florida where I worked on various jet and rocket engine programs. I spent almost 10 years supporting the Space shuttle program then worked a Joint Venture program with a Russian rocket engine manufacturer - 1996 through 1998. THOSE trips were an eye opener! I recently changed employers and have now settled in Greenville, SC. I have been made a primary liaison for our division in Belfort, France plus travel to Swansea, Wales (UK) for a "new technology" project there. I also continued in the Air Force as a reservist and finished my military career in 2002 as the Reserve Wing Commander of the Arnold Engineering Development Center in Tennessee.

Enough about my career stuff. I found time in the middle of jetting around the globe to get married to my college sweetheart (and she still is!) in 1975. We have two WONDERFUL daughters that were born in 1979 and 1981. The oldest has completed her AA in Commercial Photography and is trying to establish herself in her chosen profession. Although she is currently living in Greenville (January 2003), she hopes to move to Orlando, FL within a year where there are much better opportunities. Right now, marriage is something she doesn't even think about, launching a career is foremost in her mind! The younger one got married at 19 and is still living in South Florida with her husband. She just completed her Cosmetology training and recently completed the 3 hour state licensing test in a mere 40 minutes - ACED it too! She and her hubby are now both employed and are looking forward to having some spare cash with which to travel a bit and enjoy the sights. So, Kathryn and I are now "empty nesters" and we are pursuing our dreams; which includes living on an airport. Our hangar is only a few dozen feet from the house and the runway is just beyond the hangar
It is a life style choice that we have talked about for years and are finally realizing. We are listed in the phone book and would love to hear from anyone that happens to pass through the Greenville, SC area!
