Lawrence's Story
I live in Granada Hills, California. I am single! After high school, I moved to Wheaton, Illinois. I played on The Wheaton Summer Symphony, The DuPage Symphony, and fill-in substitute with The Chicago Symphony. I did numerous spot jingles in downtown recording studios and DuPage County. I received numerous music scholarships (at the time, I thought I might become a musicologist.) On the top of my list were Northwestern, Ohio State, and University of Minnesota. In 1977, I met Ed Shaunessy at a seminar hosted at University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Remember him? Ed was the drummer on the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. The Tonight Show was on NBC. two weeks away from picking up my textbooks and finding my on-campus dorm room when my brother became seriously ill. I rushed home (Berwyn, Illinois) to care for my brother. I continued to play, (on a gold sparkle drum set,) but life drastically changed. Two years later, after treatment, my brother's seizures left I drove a truck and continued family life, In 1993, after the Northridge Earthquake, I moved to North Hollywood, California. I graduated from Moorpark College, Moorpark, California, (General Studies) and University of Phoenix (BS Business-E commerce). After diagnosis of diabetes in 2007, I retired from work. My energy is directed towards a healthy lifestyle including disability activities, nutrition awareness, and protecting "what I have left." Ha Ha .
