Lawrence's Story

do you have a few hours to bleed....or maybe just bend an ear? Well, I think I have plenty for you to try to understand. That would mean you would have to contact me somehow. I'm anxious and waiting. Go to my e-mail now. I'm still Larry. Just blowing it. Relaxing: give me a good book or a good cd i layback and enjoy either or a good partner and we both relax. The wildest thing i did in highschool was ditch. For me that was pretty big, and bad. It was a no-no. I was a good student and then suddenly I was swept off my feet by someone from another school and away I went with that person and enjoyed myself like I never knew before. I might have grown up that day. My hero was a neighborhood kid who was so nonchalant yet brave and quite the reliable person to have around you at all times. I grew up in the barrio and I was never afraid when I was with this friend who guided me through those years 13-16. I admire that person to this day. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have complete privacy , quiet, contemplation,, and love and trust to be able to deal with the day-to-day. I've been fortunate enough to have lived my entire life in the city of the angels which I encanto. I did live in Valencia, Spain while in college during my Jr. year at UCLA. Boy that taught me alot, so much that I went back after the death of both parents while I was a SR. at UCLA. I was devastated losing both parents and I was their only child. I went back to Spain, met the greatest person and of course set off on a discovery of Europe. I had a air ticket for 3 weeks and ending up spending 11 months and settling in the north of Spain in Torrelavega, Cantabria, Santander. It was bliss. I grew up more. I think I found out about love and faith and hope. I was a L.A. Rams and Raiders fan in football, now it's all UCLA!!! GO BRUINS. When both teams the Rams and Raiders left LA I was upset and havent really been a fan. Except every now and then I wish the Raiders would win whatever game they're playing and as far as the Rams I'm glad they did as good as they did by winning their Super Bowl. I cheered. I love the Lakers. The Clippers need to be given more credit. I'm not much of a hockey fan but I did go to a game once and was blown away by the fans. Wow. The DODGERS are the DODGERS and will always be. I don't like the price of a dodger dog or a beer or a cola but I still enjoy a game at Chavez Ravine. Other teams I'm not to sure about, but about pets: I always had a dog, always, since I was two. There was Curly, Fifi, Verushka, Sargeant, Professor, Fido, and my last dog which I had for 15 years my Charley, a golden retriever who I believe knew every thing I was going to do or say, honestly. I had a great Dane , Verushka, who was also kind of a clairvoyant in that she was a great protector on various ocassions in my barrio neighborhood. God bless them, one and all. That's my sports and pets story. Good idea to joint them up because all were first class sports. My biggest suprise was with my job. I thought I had it all. I was with the Writers Guild of America for 14 years and was turned or rejected for a certain promotion which I thought was, and everyone else, mine. But the new director decided to hire someone in his family, and made me train this person for six months. I thought I was training this someone to be my aide. But no, I had given them a good chunk of my life and dedication and was even promoted to head of advertising. But the position that I had been groomed for by the Old Guard was to no avail, and the Old Guard were gone. After the training period and the position out of my hands I felt finished. I ended up quiting my job and went back to Spain. That job was by biggest suprise. If there were a teacher i would like to see again I think that would have to be Mr. Morehead, I think that was his name? As far as how i wish my old friends remember me is that I was a very fair and friendly person with no matter whom. If one were to approach me I would say "hi" or whatever and if that person had a nice smile or seemed a bit lost, like probably how I was feeling, I'd extend my greeting and friendship. I've always been that way and will continue to be. So I hope old f...Expand for more
riends remember me as being a good ole guy, friendly and easy to talk to, even though at first he may seem shy. If I won $100 million, I'd give a good part of it to various charities, then spend the rest on my goddaughter, my bills and myself. To be truly happy, well, this takes a lot of thought, but I remember being on an island in Tahiti with no cares and no woes no worries. It seemed like life was just so perfect. I went on to Bloody Mary's Bar and sat back and had a few potent potables and realized I could live like this forever. It was seemingly perfection. The day was beautiful the surroundings incredible the sky as blue as could be the sea incredilby blue, wow!!! I would like to recreate that fascinating day/ But I would like to be with someone to share it with. My current age is 59. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be gone and forgotten. I was so completely unprepared.. What happened to my first crush. I wish I knew. I wished and wished for years and years to no avail. My best friend would tell you I'm lovable, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as you know i don;t know.. I dress in whatever I feel comfortable in. I don"t care if the style is yesterdays, as long as it is wearbable and it fits well then I don;t care. I'm not very stylish, I suppose. But I do like to get dressed up once in awhile. I share my home with 5 roomates, which I find just okay. I get one do-over: I'd bring back my hair. Oh, I have lots of hair just not in the front. But if you look at our group graduating photo, I'm the only guy with the long hair. I guess I was the first long-haired dare devil to grow my hair long. In that photo I believe I'm in the second row at the far right. The guy with the long hair. I've always kept it rather long and I live with it. I'm part Apache so I guess that;s where it comes from. So I've lost just a small portion of the top of my head but it don't look bad. I may just have a haircut this summer though, I've been thinking bout it. In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by being the best person I can possibly be. My oldest friendship goes back to 1959. I was 10, he was 11. I didn't know he would become my best friend and one day save my life. But it all happened. And we are friends to this day. He and I met in Jr. High. He was the complete opposite of me. I was short and dumpy he was lean and thin. And well just everything I wasn't. Everybody stopped by out desk which we shared in Industrial Enginering (Drafting). He seemed to know everyone. He looked at me and called me kiddo. Six months later I moved and had to change schools. I was a dweeb he was cool. He gave me his phone number and told me to keep in touch. I did. We spoke weekly. I was only two towns away. But different schools nonetheless. We talked of our likes and dislikes. I was changing. In his senior year he was elected president of his class; i was elected to a student body position. We were 16 and he had a car. He invited me to a beach party at Huntington State Beach. He picked me up and said my god you;ve changed. You are gonna have all the girls all over you. From that date we saw each other every chance. I saw in him someone who gave a ugly duckling a chance. And he betted on me and I came through and for me he did too. We've remained friends for 48 years. I hope friends remember me for who I think and hope I was. I never looked down on anyone and I tried to be humble. I know I made some mistakes along the way but it was all part of the process. But in the end you are the person others remember you as I hope they rememeber me as worthwhile. My first job was at John & Susan's Restaurant on Whittier Blvd ^ Montebello Blvd. next to the Vogue Theater, where I got paid $1.75 hr. to bus boy. What I remember most about it is when I broke 20 dishes when someone came in the kitchen area at the wrong time and I was let go.. The childhood memory I'll remember and cherish for always was when my neighbor and friend and I were camping out in his back yard and he told me "you are gonna go somewhere I just can tell, you're different and I just know it, now go to sleep..." I'll never forget those words.
