Lea's Story
10/23/2008
Just want to add a note to say how great it was to see everyone at the reunion. I have to say, the last two months have been bitter/sweet. It was wonderful being with you all in August but it was also a wake up call. Time is movin' on and we should cherish every moment we have, especially those really special moments when we get to see friends that we haven't seen for too long. I didn't get to talk to everyone at the party and there's been moments since, where I wish I had slowed down to savor the time I spent with you all. Let's not let so much time pass before we see each other again! Love you all!

What would surprise most of you...let's see.
I'm a librarian.
Yeah bet you didn't see that one coming!
After working and struggling as an Artist for years and years. I decided on seeing if plan B would create a bit of stability. So I went back to school for my second masters in library and information science at UCLA. ALL of my classmates were at least 20yrs younger than me, it was so strange. Having taught studio art classes did help get me back into the groove of school and I discovered fairly quickly that the saying "it's harder for "old" pe...Expand for more
ople to learn new stuff..." is crap! I am doing things with computers that I can't even describe in public (sort of like my reputation in High School....).
Anyhow, beyond all that, I have been married to an amazing guy Marcus Adams for going on 15 years and we've been together for close to 18. We bought a run down 100 year old house about eight years ago and have gradually and lovingly restored it. Given that the first ten years of our lives together we lived in about ten different studios, it's pretty nice to have this lovely place we call home.
We still both make a bit of art but not like we used to. In fact we have both slowed down quite a bit, though we both LIKE to feel racey (Marcus rides a Harley that he customized a sure sign of a mid-life crisis!!!) but it's all for show...middle age has come and we are satisfied with our lives as they are.
It's really wonderful to read all your stories and to know where you have all traveled in life.
I am looking forward to the reunion and seeing you all. I am going to apologize right now if I don't remember you.....30 years is a long time ago and so much water has traveled under the bridge...
See you soon!
