Leah's Story
Life
When I graduated from Gunn in 1987 I went off to University of Colorado in Boulder...hated it! Came back to the Bay Area and started working with kids. I Slowly got some child development units at De Anza College, and after several years got bored and moved to Carmel/Monterey. I graduated from CSUMB (Cal State Monterey Bay) in 1999 with a BA in Human Communications. I lived there for 6 years, then moved back to the Bay Area, Menlo Park to be exact, and continued working as an Assistant Director for a private child development center and school. we moved to Daly City. During the program I interned as a domestic violence counselor for a year, then as a school social worker at Mission High School in San Francisco. After I graduated, I began working at a middle school in Oakland as a school social worker and now I am back to my roots (almost) as a Behavioral Specialist at Los Altos High School. I live in Sunnyvale with my husband and my 10 year old stepson, Ben, on the weekends. We just purchased our first home and currently trying to have a child. Would love to hear from all of you Gunn graduates from the past, working in a high school keeps me thinking about my own experiences of adolescence! Hope to see you at the reunion!
