Life
Spent 16 years in the Air Force 3 years after high school (let's not talk about those 3 years) Lots of neat assignments & places, in both the officer and enlisted ranks. (My son was born '76 in the Philippines)
Careers ranged from broadcasting and medical to Human Resource/ Admin/ Protocol/ Command, to Recruiting Publicity, Public Relations & Advertising Chief!!!
Civil Service since '94 teaching and counseling military personnel leaving active service on transition, benefits and employment skills, including joint services in northern Japan.
After 11 years of that, jumped ship Mar 05 to return to Baltimore area 35 years after I left to direct the Family Service Program for the private military housing developer/owner at Ft Meade; it took 35 years toland the best job ever!!!
Been married 3 times. My son, Corey, currently in the AF in AZ with his new wife, Christina. While hanging out in middle GA ...Expand for more
since June '96, had plans to settle in San Antonio when my husband Karl, completed 30 years with the AF in 2003... with MD cost of living, appears it STILL may end up being home in the long haul!!! Who knew the south I refused to go back to I now call home!!!
Have 4 inside and 1 outdoor cats (outdoor cat now in MD with me - rest in GA w/ hubby) plus a dog that fills and brightens my days. Spend toooooooooo much time on the computer doing things like the web page for the class of 1971 - check it out: westernhi71. tripod. com and maintaining a locator roster for the 799 grads and other alumnae!! In my spare time (yeah right) dabble in genealogy which has become an obsession. Ain't life grand :-)
PS: Unexpected job offer lured me back to MD. Hubby and 'kids" still in GA while he finishes masters (never too old) Lots of personal family losses getting there but life is still grand and God is good!!!
