Lee's Story
Lee, born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, attended J. R. Tucker High School through grade 9. Moved with Mom and brother Jay as new additions to the Gelrud clan in Lexington Park -St. Mary's County Maryland in 1969. Restarting his life as a Great Mills High sophomore. Lee later attended University of Maryland, College Park. After his freshman year, hitch hiking to Va. Beach for summer work, he heard from a ride about available work as a waiter in the Poconos for good money and room and board. Asking the driver to stop after the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Alexandria, Va. he crossed 95 and headed north to the Tamiment Resort in Pennsylvania, talked himself into a job- a cabin was his and tips were strong.

sity to seek greener pastures. The first stop to his Dad's place to live in Va. Beach to regroup and reset what direction life would take. Stints as a waiter and then the manager of a Va. Beach nightclub, a bout of mono slowed him down for 3 months. A good thing as the wild, hard partying lad needed to grow up a tad.
