Lee's Story
I have been living in West Frankfort IL for the past fifteen years. Both of my two boys have grown and basically moved away.
My oldest Joshua is 24 and married to a wonderful home town young lady who was the valedictorian of the class he graduated in. My oldest is living in Virginia with his wife going to Law School. His wife is completing her masters at U of I on line.
My youngest, Daniel, is totally different. Not at all scholarly. My youngest is all jock. He was an IHSA class 4a all state quarterback in hight school. He accepted a baseball scholarship to a local Junior College where he led the team in almost every offensive catetgory. After that he accepted a baseball scholarship at NIU in DeKalb. After struggling for a year with health problems he became a starter his senior year. He batted leadoff, finishing the season (2007) hitting 327. NIU gives all their athletes a fifth year of scholarship...so he is still in DeKalb fininshing up his degree. Daniel is currently dating a girl on the track team who went to Hersey HS.
My wife, Joyce, works in the travel business. She goes everywhere basically for free scouting out resorts. One in a while I go with her. I really do not like traveling. It wears me out.
As for me...Expand for more
, i am a prision chaplain working for the Illinois Department of Corrections. I work at a Juvenile prison that is both medium and maximum security in Harrisburg, IL. I am also a Juvenile rep on the director's religious practice advisory board. I am still a Baptist minister. I preach at a small local church on weekends. I am still a workout fanatic. I am way too compulsive about it for my age. As a result, i have had both knees scoped and both elbows have had ulnar nerve transpositions. OH well...
My wife and i have been married for 26 years. We are quite involved on our church. Me with preaching and teaching, her with ministering to old women. We are frtunate and blessed to be able to do the things that we are passionate about. I would say that God has blessed our lives. He has changed me from a crazy class clown to one who is probably too serious for his own good-Ha. My priorities are first loving and follwing Christ, loving and being a blessing to my wife. Third, being a father and Patriarch for my sons, finally being the employee that the IDOC wants me to be. I don't find much time for an outside social life. I guess that the things that i do and the people i minister with are our social lives. We are pretty blessed.
