Lee's Story
I am Lee Newhart. I went to ETHS for my junior and senior years, graduated in 1973. I lived in Evanston for a couple of years, then moved to Rogers Park in Chicago, got married, had a son, and lived there for 25 years. I divorced in 2007, and moved to Park Ridge, then Des Plaines, where I now reside. During those years I completed my educational degree at National-Louis University and have taught in Chicago for about 22 years.
I have an amazing 30 year old son who resides in Chicago. He has taught me many things(as our children do).
I have 3 sisters that live in 3 different places.....Minnesota, Florida, and here in Mt. Prospect.

with me things that I learned from my teachers at ETHS. I learned about diversity, love for humanity, the great artists of days long gone, classic architecture, great literature, and many other things that influenced my life in various ways. My two favorite classes were Humanities 101 and Ceramic Arts. I still think about the kids, the hallways, the lockers slamming shut, sitting on the grass outside having "heavy" debates with others.
I struggled with some issues in high school(as many do), but have good memories of ETHS. I look forward to talking with my old classmates and finding out the many roads that each of us have taken in life! Peace, Lee
