Lee's Story

Life Hey there. For anyone looking to see what has happened to me after all these years, you have definately come to the right place. Well, maybe. Anyways, after leaving school life behind, and getting out into the real world, I married in 1984, had my first child, Matthew, in 1985, my second, Amber, in 1987. Got divorced in 1994, a few months shy of 10 years. Me and the ex are still very good friends, believe it or not. I have met a wonderful lady since, who has 2 children of her own, and we have engaged to be married, when, don't know, not in any big hurry :) We have been together for almost 9 years now, so in a way, I guess you could say we are married, just not according to the law, LOL. I still enjoy collecting Baseball cards, I have WAAAAAAYYYYYYY to many laying around the place to count anymore, and also have some on a place called eTopps.com, where they store them for you, YEAAAAA. Still like sports, though I am not as nimble or agile as I once was, darned Father Time. Dislocated my right ring finger at the first knuckle trying to play softball a few years back, now it sits a little crooked. Go to as many Reds games as a can, work takes up way to much time. And yes, I AM still as goofy as ever. Mom thought I should have been a comedian, I told her I didn't want to starve, BAH DA BUMP. Doesn't feel like I'm 40 years old, except when trying to play sports, haha. Well, maybe I'm a little out of shape, nah, well ok just a little. Spent a little time trying to go to college at OSU, GO BUCKEYES, in 95, but do you realize just how hard that is after being away from academics for sssooooo long. Heck, can you believe I was actually to be put in a remedial math class, to get up to speed for college work, MMMEEEEEEE? What an eye opener, nothing like doing so well during your school years only to let the knowledge erode due to lack of use *somber* Anyways all, feel free to contact me, and if I remember you, it has been a LLOONNGG time for some of you, I will more than gladly return the favor. PS, can anyone get me into the next Class reunion for Lemon-Monroe for 1983? Workplace Started out flipping burgers for McDonalds back in 82 while still in high school. That carried me to roughly 85, when I became a swing manager at a company owned store. ...Expand for more
Then came a short time at Perkins, and since I now had a new family, I joined the service in Feb '86. Must read the Military bio for more. Did a few other jobs while learning a trade after the military, and joined Sears automotive in '91. Worked there for over 6 years, moved to a Nissan dealership for 5, where I was a shop foreman for 1, and have now been at Lexus of Dublin for 6 years, where I was a Team Leader. Military Served 3 years, 7 months and 21 days in the US Air Force, from 1986 to 1990, where I received training in the Ordinance Loading field, LOL. Can't use that with domestic airlines though, kinda gets you tossed in jail under a federal rap. :) Did the typical basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas, received bomb load training in Denver, and moved to my only permanent station at Nellis AFB in Lost Wages, Nevada. That was WAAAAAYYYY before the new glut of casinos to spring up, and the enclosing of Fremont Street. My plane was the A-10 Thunderbolt II, or Warthog for short. Received several different medals and honors, to include Air Force Training Ribbon, USAF Basic Military Training Honor Grad, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Load Crew of the Month, Load Crew of the Quarter, and a host of other squadron related things. Went on several TDY's, or temporary duties, to other bases, to include Eglin AFB, Florida and rode out a passing Hurricane, Floyd to be exact. This was after the shuttle explosion, and Cape Kennedy was all but shut down. Spent a day snapping pictures and checking out the sheer size of the shuttle buildings, WOW. Have been to Fort Campbell KY, during flea and tick season, Fort Hood, Texas, in April, and yes it does get a little chilly there, and Fort Carson, CO, near NORAD mountain, playing joint services with the Army. My favorite though, was when we got to go to Fort Walton Beach, for a Tyndall AFB stay. Stayed in a hotel just across the street from the Gulf, those white beaches were AWESOME. Of course, our first few days were marred by bad weather somewhere in the Gulf, and they had jellyfish warnings posted. My buds ignored the posted signs, and waded into the water anyways, and you guessed it, got stung by a few. Opted for an early roll-out in Jan of 90, and came back home to Ohio.
