LeeAnn's Story
I became a flight attendant for Republic Airlines in 1986, at age 21, was based in Detroit, and settled in Michigan. We then became Northwest Airlines and now we are Delta Airlines.
I left the Catholic Church and am now active in my Unitarian Universalist Church.
From ages 28-32 I relapsed into my high school eating disorder. At age 33 I got into recovery, founded DERP, Disordered Eaters' Recovery Program. (For the website, go to Facebook.) I realized one of the main reasons I was abusing myself in the first place: I had always had a feeling that there was something wrong with me. I finally accepted that there's nothing wrong; I'm just different. I'm gay.
I've had several girlfriends over the past few years, but I haven't been lucky enough yet to find a life partner. At least I'm more at peace with myself and not abusing food. Actually, I kinda like being single....Expand for more
I have no desire to be a mother, but I LOVE being an aunt to my three nieces and one nephew from my sister, Vicki. At least, as a flight attendant, I have a flexible schedule and can fly for free so I can visit them often since all my family is still in Illinois.
In the summer of 2003, I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. I also have Fibromyalgia, buldging disks in my back and degenerative disk disorder (aka:arthritis). I am sick and in pain in varying degrees every day.
I used to be quite busy singing for weddings and other events. Since 2003 I've taken up being a magician and entertain the passengers on the flights I work. I've been hired to entertain at parties and to perform for schools. I'm on youtube under magic show on the airplane. (For my website, go to Facebook.)
On September 29, 2008, I legally changed my name from Lee Ann Abell to LeeAnn Ariana Abel.
