I became a flight attendant for Republic Airlines in 1986, at age 21, was based in Detroit, and settled in Michigan. We then became Northwest Airlines and now we are Delta Airlines. I left the Catholic Church and am now active in my Unitarian Universalist Church. From ages 28-32 I relapsed into my high school eating disorder. At age 33 I got into recovery, founded DERP, Disordered Eaters' Recovery Program. (For the website, go to Facebook.) I realized one of the main reasons I was abusing myself in the first place: I had always had a feeling that there was something wrong with me. I finally accepted that there's nothing wrong; I'm just different. I'm gay. I've had several girlfriends over the past few years, but I haven't been lucky enough yet to find a life partner. At least I'm more at peace with myself and not abusing food. Actually, I kinda like being single....Expand for more
