Leigh's Story
Leigh (Reynolds) Mueller is from Berkeley, California. I went to Galileo for one year (68/69) and was a total hippie. In truth I probably cut more classes than I attended. While at Galileo my friends and I circulated a petition that would give girls the right to wear pants to school. (!) Most of the Asian student body members wouldn't sign it, and really a lot of the guys, because they loved mini skirts, so we couldn't get the necessary numbers; we just started showing up in jeans. Got sent home about two weeks in a row for wearing pants, and on the third week the school caved and changed the dress code. Yes! I lived alone while going to Galileo, as a sort of undeclared emancipated minor, so it wasn't a problem to get sent home. My favorite class was art (shout out to Mrs. V...Expand for more
itelli) and Mr. Kennedy's English class. Does anyone else remember that Galileo had a "Crash pad" room off the nurses office, where you could come down if you were having a bad trip? Never used it but it was nice to know it was there. I hung out with Delilah Glasser, Katie, Sara and some guys (Marshall, John and others whose names are forgotten.) I am joyfully married to Kerry Mueller. I have a daughter who lives in LA. Before Galileo I attended Katherine Branson's, Girl's Collegiate & Wooster High School. I work as a photographer and bookkeeper.
One of Leigh's favorite quotes is:"Yes! Oh yes, yes, yes! Yes! -my dog
Never let the facts get in the way of a good story... -who said that?".
